UFB: Fibre Readiness Survey by TUANZ and GETBA
The survey results showed that SMEs (0-19 employees) are yet to seize the opportunity to tap into untapped productivity and efficiency gains afforded by UFB, largely because of low awareness as to its availability and advantages. The market continues to be highly price sensitive with a clear preference for lower speed, lower cost plans by non fibre users. However once a business has a higher speed broadband, the survey suggests there's no going back from the reliable high speed of connectivity, with no existing UFB users selecting the lower speed plans. The greatest drivers of uptake were improved productivity and remote working.

Ultrafast Broadband in East Tamaki - are you taking advantage?
GETBA lobbied successfully for East Tamaki to be an early recipient of the government's $1.5 billion Ultrafast Broadband (UFB) rollout.
What is UFB?
Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) is defined as a fibre-to-the-premises broadband service that provides downlink speeds of at least 100 Mbps (megabits per second) and uplink speeds of at least 50 Mbps. By way of comparison, the average speed measured by web services firm Akamai in Q3 2011 in New Zealand was 4.0Mbps.
What does UFB mean for business?
Fibre provides speed, capacity and connectivity required to support a range of new business applications. Benefits are particularly noticeable for small to medium businesses where options for data storage and data transfer, remote working and next generation telecommunications boost productivity and stimulate growth.
UFB gives access to the Cloud
The cloud is where you can put your data, files and even software so you can access it from any computer or device, anywhere, anytime.
